Open Traditional Music Sessions
In search of the craic
Real trad sessions create a magic atmosphere in which the audience takes an active part by interacting with the musicians.
At Gus O’Connor’s Pub we like to keep our sessions open to all and don’t use individual microphones, so join us for a few tunes, songs and stories and experience the famous “Irish craic” here in Doolin.
Early Sessions Every Sunday
Our legendary Sunday sessions start early all year round and are the longest running sessions in Doolin.
Starting as early as 4:30pm from March until November and from 6pm during the Winter, these sessions attract many listeners and musicians alike.
Doolin's Traditional Music Festival
Russell Memorial Weekend
Every year, on the last weekend of February, we celebrate the legacy of Micho, Packie & Gussie Russell.
The three brothers played a huge role, along with Gus & Doll O’Connor, in establishing Doolin’s reputation as a Mecca for Irish music lovers. And no better way to celebrate them than a Traditional Music Festival.
A Long Tradition
Steeped in History
Doolin has been known for its great wealth of traditional music for a very long time, folklore collectors & archivists came to Doolin and Gus O’Connor’s Pub as early as the 1930s.
Staying true to our heritage is essential and we are proud to take part in carrying on our musical tradition and sharing it with our visitors.
